I have successfully done a ppp with a service provider and I want ot
do a ppp hook up over a null modem here at home but when I do a 
pppd /dev/tty00 38400 defaultroute on each machine I get 
can't determine ip address

if I do a 
pppd /dev/tty00 38400 defaultroute localhost:shuttle

I get
127.0.0.1 bad local IP

In other words I can't get it to work.  Can somebody tell me what command
to type in to establish a NullModem PPP network?

ps  Can we use the Xcl driver for X windows yet?  Does anyone have a work
around for the lib problem?
