On ftp.uni-regensburg.de there's "apsfilter", a nice input filter for
printing. However, I got one problem with apsfilter and my HP DeskJet: no
matter what page length I specify, text files are printed with 68 lines per
page (meaning the page is full down to the bottom and gets ejected), then
two lines are printed on the next sheet of paper, followed by a form feed.
This is of course *very* annoying! Does anyone have an idea what I can do?
Here's my printcap file (apsfilter was set up for 'deskjet', or course):

----------8<----------8<----------8<----------8<----------8<----------
#	@(#)printcap	5.3 (Berkeley) 6/30/90

lp|deskjet|HP Deskjet 500:\
	:lp=/dev/par0:\
	:sd=/var/spool/lpd:\
	:lf=/var/log/lpd-errs:\
	:if=/usr/local/bin/apsfilter:\
	:mx#0:\
	:sh:

lp|deskjet|HP Deskjet 500:\
	:lp=/dev/par0:\
	:sd=/var/spool/lpd:\
	:lf=/var/log/lpd-errs:\
	:if=/usr/local/bin/aps-forceascii:\
	:mx#0:\
	:sh:
----------8<----------8<----------8<----------8<----------8<----------

One more thing: The apsfilter script features \c control codes. I've never
seen these before, and the NetBSD 1.0 printf command doesn't know how to
handle them. Comments?
