No, it's not speed thing.  The file continues to be read until the tape
runs out of room.  Since this is a 1GB tape being written to from a
1GB harddrive (and actually just from a 300MB partition), it seems clear
that adosfs is getting more bits than it should be.

I'm pretty sure it's an adosfs problem.  I've run into it before, when
trying to copy an extremely large file (>10 MB) from the adosfs partition
to an FFS partition.  Is there possibly some problem with a signed
quantity, a fixed-size buffer, or the like?
