The iteconfig and videomode programs look for major device #13, which
according to conf.c, is the ITE.

Now, /dev/console has major/minor 0/0 and /dev/ttye0 is 13/0.

If I try any access to /dev/ttye0, it locks up.  So:
echo foo >/dev/ttye0

prints "foo", then dies.

How can I run iteconfig and videomode?
