I commmited the changes to allow 13 partitions today. anyone who will be
updating to a new kernel (i.e. not the ones currently up but the next
snapshot) or anyone compiling there own kernels be aware.

The upgrade procedure is fairly straight-forward but also unforgiving.

I am including below the new MAKEDEV incase some people may not have any
other access to it. Basically place you new kernel in / and wherever else
you need it to boot. Then cd to /dev and with the *new* MAKEDEV type
MAKEDEV all

then sync and reboot. No olders kernels will boot on you system from this
point forth.

You can try and boot a new kernel first if you wish to see that it at least
gets to the sh (it should) however / will be read-only and you will not be
able to mount anything. If you do this beware that you keep an older kernel
around so that you can reboot with it and then run MAKEDEV.

Chris.
