Just as a preface I am a neophyte.
Sometimes I ask a question on a list and I can't understand the answer.
I'm not lazy. I spend a lot of time reading the faqs, whatever I find in
internet searches.
Unfortunately, it seems that existing NetBSD documentation is aimed at the
experienced user.
This sucks for me as I can't just read but have to type questions and wait
on the off chance someone might answer in terms I can understand.
Maybe I'll have to go to the library.
I would really like to get X going so I can at least navigate through the
filesystem efficiently and see what's there and look around.
I would like to run SuperProbe but everytime I try I get an error message:

SuperProbe: CONSOLE_X_MODE_ON failed
SuperProbe: Cannot Open Video

I gave up on this and tried to run xf86config.
I input the info I had and whenever asked for info I didn't know just hit
enter to accept the default which supposedly would work.
When I hit xstart it tries but says cannot find vertical refresh rates.
Just about every faq I've read so far on any aspect of NetBSD so far is
double dutch to me - incomprehensible.
That is they make absolutely no sense to me and are worthless to me. I
wouldn't have a clue about any refresh rates for my monitor and neither does
an FCC ID search. What do other people with a second hand monitor do?
If anyone knows where I can find a plain english, no assumed knowledge guide
to setting up any aspect of NetBSD, especially X and rc.conf and whatever
other basic manipulations I need to perform I would be exhilarated if they
would tell me.
