That sounds fine, if a bit inflexible (crisco can specify a different
companion interface for each unnumbered link), however it doesn't
deal with the other issues I raised. I doubt that router requirements
does either - it's messy.

Make no mistake - I think it's a good goal because we save IPv4
address space by doing it. However, I think it's harder than it
looks at first glance.
