It certainly is for things like union mounts and unionfs.  Is my old
ancient PR on that one still open (you can get different vnodes for
process cwd and a lookup of ".", depending on what's in the cache, if
you use two different UIDs) Ah yes, kern/1677.  Haven't dared try it
recently (since the big vnode layering locking changes Bill Studenmund
did a while ago).
