   Installation kernels. They go out of their way to be small...


i'd rather a kernel option in that case.  this forces everyone to
update their private config files.  it seems saner for the end user
IMO...  that was the whole reason i wanted to get rid of "ptm" as a
separate device to begin with.

ie, change where it's needed (install kernels) rather than *everyone*
else having to do so..  i don't see that having it as a separate
pseudo-device is actually a benefit (but i could be convinced.)
