Re: KA630: how does console I/O actually work?



Reply to an old post I realize.

Has anyone looked at the sources? The KA630 schematics are on bitsavers.

I will not pretend to understand what is going on, but it looks like there are flip-flops between the DL serial chip and the processor. Maybe they are just synchronizers, but maybe there is some memory in there too.
