If you look at the contents on the CD with another machine (not sgimips),
does that work? In that case you have burned the image correctly.

AFAIR, the 2.0 image was not bootable.

I'd suggest to try the images from 

 ftp.netbsd.org:/pub/NetBSD/arch/sgimips/snapshot

No 2.0 unfortunately, but 3.0 or current will work better anyway, I suppose.
