Hello,

I am trying to run the X server on a DECstation 5000/200 (3MAX) with a PMAG-D
framebuffer under NetBSD/pmax 2.0.
xdm don't start.
From the various discussions about the X server under 2.0 in the pmax mailing
list, I am understanding that :
- the netbsd-WSCONS kernel must be used, not the GENERIC kernel,
- only securelevel 0 is supported,
- XdecNetBSD may be broken (?).
What is the current state of XdecNetBSD with the various framebuffers that
are said beeing supported in the documentation ?

What is the best way to get a working X server on a DECstation :
- build a custom WSCONS kernel and a new userland with the current sources ?
- wait up to the next NetBSD release (will the XdecNetBSD problems be fixed
in the next release or will it still be necessary to exchange the GENERIC
for a WSCONS kernel and run securelevel 0 and perhaps some other changes) ?
- or some other solution ?

Thanks in advance for the help,

Jean-Pierre HOFER
