I am using Cabletron's bootp/tftp server. I told it the MAC address of my
machine ajd the IP address I chos efo rit (10.0.0.12; it is in a local
network). Then, I told it where the boot file is hiding. Then, I told it
to run.

After that, I went to my DEC and told it to boot from tftp. This is what
the DEC told me:

>>boot 6/tftp
?IO: 6/tftp, bootp tmout
>>

Checking the log for the bootp/tftp server, I saw the following:

07/31/99 08:06:59 PM BootP Server Initialized.
07/31/99 08:06:59 PM

It also told me that it had 5 requests, 5 successful replies, and 3 SNMP
errors, whatever they may be. What does that all mean? it seems both
machines did talk to each other, but why didn't they try to send data around?

If this is relevant, this program gives me the option to chose the boot
reply method, whcih can be

	a) Deirect reply to bootp requests
	b) broadcast reply to bootp requests

Currently, I chose option a). If I select, option b), and try to boot the
DEC, I get the following back from the DEC:

>>boot 6/tftp
?IO: 6/tftp, a.out err (-2)
>>

And the following from the PC:
