I'm running an older version of the asc driver linked in with the 1.3.1
kernel to avoid these errors.  I believe Michael Hitch is working on the
problem but hasn't found a solution yet.

If you wish I will send you the versions of the code that I am using
sucessfully on our news server (5000/200 with a 4 gig ccd running 1.3.1).
