Hi!
I just purchased a new Powerbook G4 12" 1.33 GHzwith the
main aim to install NetBSD on it.
I tried the 1.6.2 install cd. It booted, but after the various
kernel messages (some of them showing strange errors
about usb controllers) it asked me for the terminal type
(vt100 etc). The laptop's keyboard did not work (no feedback
on the screen), the usb one I had attached did not work too
(but both worked in OpenFirmware). So I think the kernel
did not recognize the keyboards or hung. :-(
So I decided to try out 2.0_BETA.
Since I had not find any 2.0_BETA macppccd.iso, after a hard
work I burnt my own 2.0_BETA cd following the NetBSD
bootable cdrom Howto and using releng
netbsd-2-0/200408130000/macppc
Now, when I type

boot cd:,\ofwboot.xcf netbsd.macppc

(I am sure the kernel has this name) the output is:

0 > boot cd:,\ofwboot.xcf netbsd.macppc load-size=cbcc adler32=353240e9

loading XCOFF

If I repeat the command, after loading .text it says
CLAIM failed
  ok

Now I am pretty sad for this situation... it's frustrating...

Can anyone help? What can I do now? What is the problem?

Sorry for wasting your time, but I am a macintosh total newbie...
Thank you very much,

Davide
