I'm not sure that the parameters are right, but they do work with the
4.0.1 server (I can actually crank it up to 85Hz vertical, with a mode
like: (**) r128(0): Default mode "1024x768": 94.5 MHz, 68.7 kHz, 85.0Hz)

Turning down VertRefresh to 60 changes the appearance of the screen
when the 4.1.0 server starts (flickering black-ish instead of
intensifying purple bands), but it still isn't working, and still
hangs the machine.

I can get a ktrace of the server up to the point where it wedges, if
that would be useful.
