A patch to fix this has been included in NetBSD 1.2pl1, which I hope will

I've got an LCIII with 20 MB & 650MB harddrive and it works just fine with the SBCGENERIC-15 
kernel. It even runs X without a problem. You have to set the LCIII to one bit colour 
mode though, before booting.
