Right.  Had the same problem.  The problem is, the source is made for
Linux which does locking differently than NetBSD (something like that,
maybe its just that NetBSD locking is broken, I don't remember)  At any
rate, you can get the source (and binaries?) for a patched working version
from:=20

ftp.macbsd.com:/pub/NetBSD/contrib/unix/hfsutils-patched-01.tar.gz


P.S.  The XHfs script is well worth installing Tcl/Tk (which you can get
      from the NetBSD/Amiga archive)..  it is eminently functional,
      especially for maneuvering around those weird symbolled Mac
      directories, and has this great nostalgic Font/DA Mover look to it =
=3D)
