>Description:
Recent DHCP client configurating script, "dhclient-script", uses
"ifconfig ... -alias ip-address" to give IP address, but this -alias
option is not available for all network devices.
For example, I tried to use my old 3COM 905 ether card ("ep0"),
but it dhclient-script shows following error and it cannot lease
any IP address from DHCP server. The line starts with + is taken
by adding "set -xv" line at the beginning of the script.
+ ifconfig ep0 inet -alias 24.17.3.181
ifconfig: SIOCDIFADDR: Can't assign requested address
>How-To-Repeat:
Use any of ethernet card which doesn't support -alias option.
>Fix:
Stop using -alias option.
