Has anything changed in the past week which would kill my sendmail?

For some reason, I can't telnet to the mail port on localhost with smmsp
running. I'm wondering if this is something I need to bring up with the
sendmail pkgsrc maintainer or yet another misconfiguration on my part.

The maillog errors are of the form:

Jul 12 09:25:44 amttest sm-msp-queue[501]: o6CFEdkf011912: to=htodd,
delay=01:11:04, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=2081392, relay=[127.0.0.1],
dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Connection refused by [127.0.0.1]

Thanks.
