_lwp_ctl: Cannot allocate memory

Hello,

on a 4.99.55 i386 system, gkrellm fails to start every now and then:

        gkrellm: _lwp_ctl: Cannot allocate memory

But most of the time it starts just fine, and trying to start it
immediately after it fails as described above also succeeds most of
the time...

I have yet to see other programs to fail allocating memory...
