How big did you make that / partition?

Did you make separate /var and/or /usr partitions?

Or is everything being installed to your small root "/" partition?

I can't remember what the minimum needed is, but I believe that a couple
hundred megabytes is more than enough.

(I should assume that you already checked this, but you didn't tell us.)
