Heh, I just sent a message to port-alpha about exabytes on siop.  I see

	siop0: target 6 asynchronous
	probe(siop0:6:1):  Check Condition on CDB: 0x00 20 00 00 00 00
	    SENSE KEY:  Aborted Command
	     ASC/ASCQ:  Message Error

on boot, and AFAICR I only get the "Check Condition" message when the
drive is empty.  This is on vanilla 1.5 and not -current.
