Well ... I view anything that's shorter than the 0.9 -> 1.0 timeframe
to be an improvement :-)

Ouch.

While I realize that it's not always apparant, there _is_ a lot of effort
that goes into making the releases stable; they get pounded on for
a while.  With the snapshots, you're pretty much taking a gamble in
terms of stability.  Also, it is nice to have a common baseline to work
from when helping people out with problems they're having.  Okay, I
fully admit I wish releases would happen much more frequently then
they do ... but hey, you can't have it all.
