I grabbed the kernals & utilities from sun-lamp and the release files from
iastate (10/19 version) on Monday.  I followed the directions for a single
floppy install and it worked without any problems.

I seemed to be jumping around from one section of the INSTALL document to
another to get the installation done in the correct order.  It might help
to name and number the sections and then for each of the different
installation methods, list the order the different sections need to be
done.

This was the first time I ever installed NetBSD-i386.  At home, I run
NetBSD/Mac68k.

I do have one ethernet config question...

The PC is configured with a SMC Elite 16 UTP/AUI/BNC ethernet card.  I have
been unable to successfully use the card.  I haven't found that name on the
card, but that is what my LAN admin says it is.

Basically, what I see on the LAN analyzer is that ARP requests are sent out
and the ARP replies are sent back, but the NetBSD system sends out more ARP
requests.

I am using the UTP port on the card.  The Ipckts and Opckts keep
increasing.  The UTP port on the card was used the day before to load
DOS/Windows, so I think it is working OK.

Are there any differences between the kernal dated 10/23 and the remaining
distribution dated 10/19?
