Yes. Though it also draws long lines all over the place at times,
but only in the program's window, nowhere else.

I tried that and all of the programs that produce the window trash
start up fine (they often didn't before - sometimes had black,
blank windows) but immediately crash when I load an existing file,
so seems to me that you might be onto something here.
