Apparently, X needs the "options INSECURE" set in the kernel config file. 
After rebuilding the GENERIC kernel with this option set, Xorg crashes 
immediately. That is, NetBSD exits to the SRM console immediately, without 
error logs. The SRM console only says:
halt code = 6
double error halt
