re: i386 radeondrmkms results



After fixing my custom kernel to include "wsdisplay* at wsemuldisplaydev?",
I tried again.  It seems to not like my NFS root directory--each time
panicking with "cnopen: no console device".

I put the kernel and modules on the machine's local disk so it could
run with the 7.0_BETA userland.  Its behavior is strange.

If I boot the drmkms-enabled kernel immediately upon power-up, the screen
is filled with streaky garbage when drmkms attaches and the machine
hangs.  If I boot a non-DRMKMS kernel, even to just single-user mode
with a VGA text-mode console, reboot and then boot the drmkms-enabled
kernel, it attaches and works, at least for text mode.  Something not
getting initialized?

Booting with "-vx" spams the console with debug messages crawling
slowly up the screen.  I got tired of waiting to see if 'rc' would
start running and rebooted without any kernel arguments.

Starting X results in a panic and reboot after a short while (the mouse
cursor appeared; the scroll bar of 'xconsole' was drawn).  It managed
to save a core dump once, but it was unusable when I fed it to 'crash'.
At least it produced a message (see bwlow).
