Thanks -- that was the bit i didn't understand.  I saw .../src/x11 and
figured that was the X source, but it's not -- there's the seperate
directory "xsrc".  (Most of my machines are servers and don't need X, so i
had pulled the already-built binaries down on previous occasions for my
SPARC-5 desktop.)

I pulled the xfree.tar.gz (source) tar archive down, unarchived it and
passed the location to build.sh with "-X".
