Hello Martin.

Thank you for your participation! You wrote:

I am not sure any more. It could also be from one of my customized
kernels. I think this error should be left for now. See later for more
dmesg output.

Is there any newer (and stable) version of NetBSD available?

I agree it is hard to believe that com-ports are not supported. But in
this case I guess it is because the serial ports are controlled by the
serial bus (Intel 82801 SMBus) which appears to be unconfigured after
boot. The same is the matter with the audio controller (and until now I
have only been able to get some beep-sounds from the machine).

Also in the GENERIC kernel configuration source I have found no
references to SMBus or 82801, so my first guess is there is no
support for such a serial bus?

On the other hand there is a reference to SMBus in
/sys/arch/i386/pci/pci_intr_fixup.c, so maybe it is just a matter of
configuring the kernel correct?

I apologize if this is considered as "spam", but I though it better to
include the full dmesg output once and for all. The following is from
a boot of the GENERIC kernel with both a PS/2 mouse and a serial mouse
connected to the machine.
