You shouldn't need BSDSRCDIR (or BSDOBJDIR); i don't set either of those.
I recently modified src/x11/Makefile to ensure that $X11SRCDIR is set
and exists in the file system, because the failure semantics were
a bit weird if that wasn't set correctly.
