hi,
I had the same problem (works fine with FreeBSD as you described).
I added AGP support to the kernel and recompiled, but I never got the
i810 running on NetBSD. I ended up plugging in another gfx controller
and disabling the i810 in BIOS.
As far as I can remember, the problem was that the AGP could not lock
some memory (for whatever reason).
