I did it a little different:
 ln -s `which gmake` /home/reed/tmp/make # notice I gave it name
and prepended it to my path.
 
And now a "make World" is cruising right along.

 Full build of Release 6.4 of the X Window System complete

That was fast!!

(And now my "make install" built my X distribution under /usr/kdrive. I
don't see any X binary, but I'll look into this more.)

What do the NetBSD developers do when building X?

Who should I report this to? (Or where?)
