How does this relate to the use of gcc vs clang or pcc, or some future compiler? Is it already the case that all new compilers have to use gcc-compatible runtimes to be viable? Or is this all dictated by ABI specs anyway? (I'm guessing this is a non-issue or you wouldn't have proposed it.)
