The chip sets are on the motherboard for both the Intel motherboard and the=
=20
Dell motherboard.   As far as I can tell, it is the same chip set, although=
=20
there is a different EEPROM listed.   Both reported back as:
 Intel i82547GI 1000BASE-T Ethernet, rev. 0

The one that hangs the system reports:
wm0: 65536 word (16 address bits) SPI EEPROM

But I've had conversations with others for which it works when reporting th=
e=20
above EEPROM.   I really don't know.   Just for reference, the working=20
machine reports:
wm0: 64 word (6 address bits) MicroWire EEPROM

As for being unfriendly, our local supplier reported back after a conversat=
ion=20
with Intel something like "NetBSD is not a supported OS."    And since I=20
haven't been able to get the machine to act the same with "a supported OS",=
=20
it must be NetBSD's problem, right?
