Maybe i'm really dumb today and missing everything around but..

$ ls -li /rescue/init*
51844 -r-xr-xr-x  130 root  wheel  2492352 Jun  2 19:25 /rescue/init
51844 -r-xr-xr-x  130 root  wheel  2492352 Jun  2 19:25 /rescue/init.bak

IMHO hard link is not the best way to backup file, is it ? :)
