Obviously that wasn't your problem.  However, type "man sh" (substitute for sh 
if you use a different shell) and search for the alias section for more 
information on aliases.

P.S.  Please don't send to the list and myself as your client seems to send it

Also, the help mailing list might be better suited to this questions.
