The point abount -s is that it (historically) tells you the amount of
disk space that a file takes, not the offset of the EOF.

Of course, a certain company (who will remain nameless in case they decide
to sue me), did change it to be the 'file size'/'block size' in one
version - which is probably why the SuS has it as optional/depracated.
