Can I ask a silly question?

I'm cross-building for sparc on i386.

Which set of CFLAGS does it use once the cross-compilation exercise
actually starts?

I'm guessing that the host-* tools are built in terms of the machine
performing the cross-compilation, and hence use HOST_CFLAGS.
Once the cross-tools are built, which .*CFLAGS= does the rest of
the process use?

NetBSD: Linux without the hype.
