IPv6 isn't supposes to need that - certainly I've never needed to configure
a defauut IPv6 gateway in any IPv6 host (as distinct from router using
static routing, which probably isn't something to encourage).

What is it that isn't working that is making you feel a need to configure
a static default route for IPv6 ?
