That's changing with 2.8.  Indeed there's an interesting program under
development for auditing and searching out binary code that'll fail on
2.8, whether it's linked with shared libraries, or not.  Looks like Sun
is going to push customers *really* hard to upgrade by offering to help
pull them along as much as possible.
