I'm having trouble with a 1.4 machine & nsswitch.conf.

Right now the nsswitch file is:

group: files nis
hosts: files dns
netgroup: files nis
networks: files
passwd: files nis

The problem is that whenever yp goes down, no one, not even root, can log
in. We can type the username and password, but never get a shell. We get a
bunch of RPC errors about not being able to connect, and errors from
ypbind that it can't connect to any servers.

So how can I tell msswitch to just give yp on nis groups at that point?

Take care,

Bill
