Subject: can we *PLEASE* have the latest version of host(1)!

This sucks big time.  The default version of host in the BIND
distribution is totally useless and out-dated.  No wonder people put up
with dig's most horrible and non-unix-like interface if they don't have
decent tools to use instead.

I was getting all ready to request that host be updated to host_980903,
which is available as always from ftp://ftp.nikhef.nl/pub/network/, and
that this be done before 1.4.
