Assuming you implement this, does that mean that suddenly all applications
using sys_errlist will just break? If so.. and this is released in 1.4, how
will backwards compatability with 1.3 and previous be achieved, or will that be
handled by a wrapper in the kernel?

I just know alot of 3rd party software likes to use sys_errlist..  I just don't
want to have all of it break and suddenly need to recompile everything.
