DEC OSF/1?  "uh, no."

At least since 2.0, DEC OSF/1 (and now Digital UNIX (formerly DEC
OSF/1)) has used /etc/rc.conf + /etc/inittab + rc*.d directories.

I prefer this one, + /etc/rc.conf.


I don't care much one way or another about run levels.  I know some
people who think they're useful, but i also know a whole bunch who
think that the standard semantics of how things are run on
transitions... suck.
