for those who asked what ports don't have weak references:

i think it's unreasonable to _require_ people porting NetBSD to new
architectures to get a compiler/linker setup running _first_.
i.e. usually, they'd just want to build a kernel, libc, etc.

If you _require_ weak references support, you make porting a
significantly harder task.
