There was a paper at some USENIX event or another that gave me the
original reference
I found a copy of it on harbor.ecn.purdue.edu, along with a design spec.
for a new version. URL: ftp://harbor.ecn.purdue.edu/pub/ACMAINT/
Unfortunately work seems to have stopped on it a while ago.... The
basic idea seems ideal, as it provides centralized account management as
an add-on to any networkable UNIX system.
