A proper fix to the performance and resource concumption problem is
switching to LLVM lld, but we need to enhance our ELF loader and either
adapt or patch lld with a consensus with LLVM upstream. Today even AIX
uses lld....

While there, DWARF can be compressed and this is better than disabling
-g (how MKDEBUG can work without -g?).
