Hmm. Maybe you've already thought of this, but...

Once we have cross versions of all the programs involved in building FFS
images, ramdisks, miniroots, and such, a cross sysinst that can be made
into a binary package is not far off.

For instance, it'd be very cool to plug a SCSI drive into a working machine
and have the cross-sysinst package wipe/partition/install it for any other
port that can boot from SCSI. (s/SCSI/your-favorite-interface/g)

This would enable us to just borrow hard drives from people, install them,
and give them back. In some cases, this would be a lot easier for people
than trying to get the install media and dist sets onto their system.


Oh, and the $64K question: what's your current plan for getting these changes
committed, and do you have a "living draft" of the how-to man page anywhere?
I plan to be an early adopter.
