Continuing halts the kernel.  This machine boots excellently with
1.4.1-GENERIC.

Removing the soundcard allows me to boot further, but gives this:

This is issued over and over.

The configuration is a Tyan Titan Pro (1662, I belive) with 2xPPRO 180's,
2 Adaptec 2940s, 1 old style (21xxx based) Netgear card, ATI XPert '98,
and a Hauppauge Win/TV video capture card.  Every card works perfectly
under a 1.4.1-GENERIC (the Hauppage is using the patches provided by
Mr. Wulf on 1999/11/01 or so).  The soundcard was a SoundBlaster 16 in an
ISA slot (all other cards are in PCI slots).

If you'd like, I can attach a 1.4.1-GENERIC dmesg.
